We are being transformed by the renewing of our mind.
We wrap up our Renewed Mind series with a conversation about what truly counts and what really matters.
“Life is deep & simple, & what our society gives us is shallow & complicated.” -Mr. Rogers
In a world of mixed messages, we must be reminded continually who we truly are in Christ.
A conversation about how sin affects our confidence, and what it truly means to be dead to sin but alive to God.
How we feel about ourselves directly affects the decisions we make and the way we interact with the people around us. It is so important to find confidence in who we truly are, and that confidence is a gift of God for us through Christ.
The bible says that transformation happens, not as we behold ourselves or others, but as we behold Jesus.
We're saved by grace through faith, not by our works...but we're created for good works. If our good works don't earn favor with God, what are the for and why are they so important?
True righteousness isn't cosmetic, it's not achievable from the outside-in, it's not something we can do or even really comprehend. Our righteousness is a gift from God through Jesus, and we are being transformed by Him from the inside-out.
We are not renewing our own minds by accumulating information, it's not mental ascent. Our minds are being renewed to the mind of Christ, it's Him that we are made complete and where we find our true self.
In the introduction to our new series Renewed Mind, we talk about the two approaches towards life that the Apostle Paul presents in Romans 12:1-2...the path of conformity or the path of transformation that happens through the renewal of our minds.
